After realizing their growing studio in Northeast Minneapolis needed more space, founder and principal designer Victoria Sass and her team at Prospect Refuge Studio decided a relocation was in order. When the boutique design firm moved to Nicollet Avenue earlier this year, the team took the opportunity to design their new space to showcase local makers and lines of furnishings and décor. “We’re not a retail showroom, but we wanted to have pieces in-house to show our clients the quality,” explains Sass. “Details are so important to us, and it makes such a difference when you can actually see the patina of a fixture and the grain of the wood.” The new space is now enveloped in creamy plaster and natural materials, with Japanese-inspired lighting and a smattering of antiques, books, and ceramics and pottery made by local artisans—all artfully blending together to create a warm, inviting space for the studio’s guests.
