When hiring Vine Hill Partners to create their dream home, this couple’s goals were twofold: reach retirement in luxury, and creatively utilize space for family get-togethers when the kids are home over breaks and holidays. Now that their kids were getting older and preparing to leave the nest, what they didn’t need was a sprawling McMansion.
“This is contained luxury,” explains owner/builder Cory Lepper of Vine Hill Partners. “It may be on a smaller scale, but there’s still marble and granite countertops, Wolfe and Sub-Zero appliances, and the craftsmanship and attention to detail you’d expect in a luxury home.”
“The home not only has a smaller footprint, but feels warm and welcoming, thanks in part to Cory’s extensive background in landscape architecture and development (he understands how to situate homes for the best play of natural light and effortlessly integrate them into their surroundings), and his wife and business partner Heather’s eye for interior design. The duo met with the couple, who were already working with an architect, listened carefully to the vision of the homeowners, then built this home to fit their clients’ personalities and lifestyle.”
The end result is exactly what the homeowners envisioned: a four-bedroom, four bath stunner with expansive windows opening to views of Lake Minnetonka, a great room with a soaring ceiling and dramatic stone fireplace, bedrooms with window seats, an elegant master suite and bath, and a large kitchen that’s as functional as it is beautiful.
A 20-by-20 foot rec room, fitness area, bar, wine room, and workshop bring entertainment, hobbies, and workouts to the lower level. Even the dog’s dreams came true with a custom doghouse—matching the arched doorway, natural stone, and roofline of the home’s exterior.
