Puustelli Opens Showroom in Uptown

Eco-friendly Euro-cabinetry

Puustelli, the leading kitchen cabinetry in Finland for nearly 100 years, opened a new Minneapolis showroom in Uptown near Lake Calhoun. Puustelli USA president Mikko Juola chose the Twin Cities because of its strong Scandinavian heritage and design aesthetic, and the strength of the local remodeling market.

The new 1,900-square-foot showroom holds five complete kitchen vignettes, including two large demonstration kitchens, plus a floor-to-ceiling fireplace and bathroom displays. Puustelli plans to host cooking demonstrations throughout the year—Mikko’s wife, Anna, is also the showroom’s in-house chef—to show visitors the kitchen systems in action.

Unlike many showrooms, which are open only to the trade, Puustelli welcomes consumers. On-staff designers offer full-service kitchen and home cabinetry help to DIY homeowners, as well as to builders and designers.

Known for its modern, functional designs manufactured with eco-friendly materials, Puuselli uses no volatile organic compounds or formaldehyde, and its products are manufactured with the smallest environmental impact possible. Its products are also extremely durable: Ceramic countertops are scratch-resistant, nonporous and stain-resistant, and can withstand more than 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The Miinus kitchen line features a bio-composite frame that won’t expand or contract in high-moisture areas. With its emphasis on affordable luxury and modern, sustainable designs, Puustelli aims to fill the gap between ultra-high-end European lines and Ikea.
